Tessitura Integration
Tessitura Arts Enterprise Software is a Performing Arts management solution that provides a comprehensive suite of ticketing, marketing, development and fundraising tools to share information, increase productivity, and provide unparalleled leverage for customer relationship management.
Our Tessitura Web API Integration solution allow disparate systems to communicate with each other, quickly, efficiently and securely. This consists of a plug-in application that sits between your in-house Content Management System and any application that needs to communicate with the your Tessitura-driven website.
Our mature plug-in framework, Grouptools, is platform and vendor independent and can operate in Java and .NET environments. It is built around a lightweight, high performance pure XML database library, Berkeley DB XML, and both publishes and consumes Web Services (SOAP). Its strict conformity to web standards and use of open technology provides an extensible and robust solution in a changing environment.

The Grouptools Tessitura Web API is built to ensure that in the event of network failure between the Tessitura database, API or Credit Card servers, the website will remain online. This is achieved by caching Tessitura data on the web server itself, stored in a series of xml files.
This allows Grouptools to display a list of productions, performances, blurbs, dates and even prices without ever needing to query Tessitura directly. This cached data is automatically updated whenever changes are made to Tessitura that would influence online content (price adjustments, performance cancellations etc). The update occurs in real time so Tessitura and the website are always in sync.
This offers 3 important advantages:
- Decreased page loading times;
- Increased website availability in the event of the Tessitura API server or the Credit Card servers going offline;
- Reduced load on the in-house Tessitura network as fewer requests need to be handled in real time.
