We build Elastic Load Balancing into all of our new solutions which allows our clients' websites to automatically scale when traffic increases without any human intervention. Naturally this also keeps hosting costs down as you do not need to pay for redundant physical servers during low traffic periods.
We use Amazon Simple Queue Service to provide a robust and scalable solution for ticketing waiting rooms and EC2's scalable architecture allows us to place server instances in strategic geographical locations such as East/West Coast USA, Europe and the Far East. Working seamlessly with elastic load balancing, our waiting room capacity automatically expands and contracts in response to traffic load.
